Its what I keep asking (OK I keep shouting!!!)? Climate models are completely useless in managing the transition; they are just the long term global headlines. We need detailed local understanding of change to manage the transition. What plants, infrastructure & systems do we need to be preparing?
You know, all major powers are now actually making plans for how to utilize an ice-free arctic, rather than investing even token energy in keeping it frozen. I think the 'unless' clause is probably obsolete now
