The puff making started off small but has grown into practically its own industry. These are made by tracing random thread spools and bead containers onto fabric, cutting them out, hand gathering them, stuffing with Polyfill, and then closing up the bottom.

Btw, I call these my fabric dumplings

Back on July/Aug of 2024, I started the process of sculpting the pleats and sewing down puffs (with help from friend’s cats as supervisors). This is honestly just pure vibes and isn’t plotted out ahead of time

It’s been months of making puffs, sewing down the pleats, adding the dumplings, and shuffling the hoop along by a few inches. Only in Nov/Dec did I start to get faster and make real progress.

I’ve been experimenting with texture for the collar/sleeve bands and blending out my raw edges with thousands of French knots. So far I’ve used over 70 yards worth of embroidery floss for the edge blending. That’s where we’re at as of Jan. 2025

In the background, I’ve been brainstorming concepts for the belt and the prop. I’ve been staring at a lot of art of both White No Face & who he is under the mask (huge spoiler so not saying here). I like to weave in lore references where I can after all.

I am almost done with the base texture on the body of the robe. Only about 6 inches left of doing endless French knots. Probably should be moving to a different phase of the project tomorrow
