As most warfare are now fought by drones, you could arm a drone with a warhead, which is attached to armaments hidden in the wing and fully active, increasing yield, hit before reaching the target everything is deactivated, corrosive substance destroys the warhead explosive to neutralise them

Hit before the target you can deploy the hidden warhead, helping to destroy the area before acquired target, drone not hit then high yield is intact.
