Closed at 113. That’s 7% in one trading day alone. Gazprom stock finished below $1 per share as well. At this rate they aren’t going to have to have peace talks and no ceding territory. There won’t be a Russian army to fight anymore if soldiers don’t get paid or fed.
And it’s not even friday yet. 3 more days of trading to go. 120 or more by Friday afternoon and the ruble is in a free fall. Ruble appears to be devaluing at an exponential rate which is far worse than I originally thought on Monday. Bankruptcies coming soon. Likely entire economic sectors too.
Just like the currencies of Georgia, Oezbekistan, Kazachstan and other states under Russian influence. Buying politicians in these countries is getting more expensive for Russia everyday now.
It's heading into the right direction. I hope it continues like that. Good news. I hope Biden and von der Leyen are pushing a little bit more and maybe the war is getting concluded through economic realities.
You can make a graphic more vibrant, less dramatic. But there, even with abscissa of several meters even a child from Moscow would understand that for Christmas presents it's over. The Russian government have been propping it up using various policies, like raising inflation, and by buying rubles.
