Putin's humiliation continues, as Russian and Assadist forces are now in full retreat mode, with rebels taking control of the second largest city in the country with ease, Aleppo.
Rebels are expected to consolidate forces for a press on to Damascus and Russia's military base.

How likely is this?
Sheer rage, looking at the policy of half steps, half help, half deliveries of weapons towards Ukraine
Putin would have been crying in Siberia for two years
Looks like they are taking it back.

Can't conquer Ukraine in three years. Lost Syria in 3 days. On life support from nOrTh kOreA.
But tell me again how russia will conquer Paris...
A couple SAM systems on the other hand, in competent hands, could be a *massive* pain to them.
Does it put the dictatorβs regime and the regime of their benefactor in moscow on the back foot?
Absolutely.
Kinda like complaining about bad weather in Ireland. π
The others might claim some sort of free agency but this fighter is a Turkish proxy.
When people say "islamists", it should be noted that we're talking HTS, not Daesh.
Hayβat Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) is a coalition of northern Syria-based Sunni Islamist insurgent groups that evolved from Jabhat al-Nusrah, or βNusrah Front,β al-Qaβidaβs former branch in Syria

Moderates were able to get along with and work with them, unlike with Daesh, who was everyone's enemy.

But in short, these guys are militant Sunni jihadists.
He keeps holding his arm over it while in the shot, but removes it the moment he thinks he is out of camera view
Many of these very same rebels fought ISIS and AQ. Many have changed factions over time. Regardless, nobody else is going to topple Assad. Pro democracy fighters along with islamists. Itβs the Middle East. Itβs how it will always work.
But its another beautiful country ruined from an autocrat.
An extremist group that is focused mainly around a specific conflict. Unlike ISIS that actively attacks western targets and just tried to take power wherever they could.
The Kurds still have a great deal of autonomy in eastern Syria though.
But neither could, or should, the YPG move out of the east to save the regime.
They better get Trump on record with some guarantees soon.
Terrorists are like scorpions.
