A great post Jo!

Many people think building relationships is about knowing their interests and having a laugh and a joke.

Like you've mentioned, a good teacher-pupil relationship is one where pupils can trust you, learn from you and are inspired to do well in your subject.

I feel like I build relationship in part because they are people who I care about, but, like you said, I have an agenda for them in my classroom: learn!
