I love detroit. But usually when people say they want to come here for tourism I tell them not to bc so many of the greatest detroit things and secret and only available to people in the know. I think detroit is def a genuine city where you need to gain trust

I did most of the touristy stuff this time around because I just wanted to see the must see places, but I think there will probably be an opportunity to visit the more local stuff when I go back!

And I agree. I feel bad the rep it’s gotten because the city is beautiful and people are so kind

I mean there is crime. I get chased and followed. We have to live in a defensive way. But the music and culture is so rich. The socioeconomic disparity is big but I think is poor people make amazing art and music etc

The coolest fact about the Lincoln Assassination chair is that the stain at the top is not blood. It is the cumulative effect of years of people with greasy hair leaning back against the cushion. Daily shampooing was not a thing back then.

So I tried to get tickets to Motown, but it didn’t fit with our schedule and I’m bummed about it 😓 BUT we did go to the Guardian building and it was stunning! I can’t believe more people don’t talk about it. Thank you so much. We’re gonna tailgate and go see the Lions game tonight!

I had a great time! I want to come back and catch a Tigers game, go to Belle Isle, Fischer Building, and of course the Motown museum. Maybe it’ll be my summer vacay.
