AS long ago as 2006 The Stern Review on the economics of climate change said it would take 1% of GDP to deal with climate change. And if we DID’NT it would cost 5 - 20% of GDP.

Yes. Fossil fuel companies make more profit from oil than renewables. So they invest 95% in Oil and only 5% in renewables to maximise profit for shareholders. We need a carbon tax that puts a spanner in this engine or it will drive us to destruction.
