The Church of Saint John in Gouda contains around 50% of all 16th century stained glass that survives in the Netherlands. The 72 windows with a total surface of 1755 m² survived, among other things, the Beeldenstorm of 1566. #StainedGlassSunday

The Beeldenstorm was such a tragedy, given how the Netherlands was one of the centres of late mediaeval art and, being rich, could afford the best of the best.
