This looks sick and not something I have looked at seriously yet. I still want the ability to record in CV with an external source (like a keyboard with CV out) but maybe I’m asking too much. I liked the Erica Synths Black Seq. but just way too big for my small case.

yea, you said 104hp so i rec’d something very small. while it lacks recording sequences into it, you can edit each step manually if you want.

you can also use a module with midi input and use an external sequencer. i’ve had my eye on the OXI One lately

Keeping all the sequencers midi would save a ton of money and provide great external control especially since you can chain those intellijel midi expansion modules together for 32 cc to cv outputs

I hear alot about this thing and it looks beautiful but I have a OG push, ableton suite, and a million plugins I feel like I’m rebuying tools. I’m trying to thread the needle of daw control and fun and “playable” randomness. My intellijel midi interface comes today tho so I get I’ll get to try that

yea i hear that. my next task is selling “doubles”—modules of different brands that do the same thing, so i can buy multiples of what i really like and use often, like the intellijel dual ADSR

I’m gonna take the plunge here soon and get a Xaoc Zadar, no point in fighting it any longer. Feels like a one stop shop and I like the screen.

Mimetic is like a mini Rene.
Personally I’d buy a metropolix. They are amazing and are designed to sequence two voices in tandem. The mid lane options are awesome.

I think the Rene is rad but would like a little more organization for how big it is. People love the metropolix but I don’t think the workflow is for me, plus the size and price. I’m too new, Idk enough about what I actually want to make a decision I guess. Hoping it will hit me when I see it.

I don’t find Rene to be great for classically melodic use. I like to go weird but it all a modular does is bleep bloop drone zzz I’m not interested.

I’m looking for that sweet spot of programmable but with the ability to introduce randomness strategically. With my limited modules I’m just sending random scale quantized cv from Pam’s. Still gets pretty interesting with euclidean patterns and CV inputs to Pam’s but it’s still short loops or random

If I had to have just one row in a modular right now it would be Metropolix Atlantix and Zadar. That puts me in my Electro synth happy place with modular patch-ability goodness.

I have Pam’s so figure Plum Audio O_c 1u might be a nice addition. I also need an envelope generator and I really like the XAOC Zadar but think my money could be more value oriented. I think Maths is cool but kinda big. I’m using a 104 pallet case btw.

Zadar is really excellent too. It does tons of maths style effects but x4 and without the need to think about it too hard. I love mine.
