Yes, there are lots of areas (especially rural) where the choice is Walmart or Target (and maybe Home Depot). I don’t see that Walmart (or Home Depot) is suffering at all. But what do I know? I’m apparently very stupid and I’m suddenly very tired of arguing with people. Very tired. Very very tired.
