Remember that white pigmentation also doesn't define ethnicity completely. A lot of people who look white can be heavily Native American. Mostly due to the fact white people who took Native slaves, raped them, and kept picking white partners for status.
It is really hard to have any sort of conversation about it because people will get defensive when words like ableism or racism get thrown into the mix, but people need to understand when they are wrong and it coming from the same community should make it feel safer, but it is used as a tactic
