One of my Oxford "fun facts" is going back into the cupboard for a while :(
The "Angel and Greyhound" was named after A&G meadow...but A&G meadow was originally named after two nearby pubs (The Angel and The Greyhound). So until this week the A&G was a pub named after two completely different pubs!

Two new places to eat and drink will open in Oxford on Wednesday. The Oranges & Lemons pub on St Clement's has its “grand reopening” at 5 o'clock. It is reverting to the apt name it took in 1970 (after the nursery rhyme), following 34 years as the Angel & Greyhound (after the nearby meadow).
