Tbh I find YouTube comments to be relatively similar to TikTok. I'd say it leans slightly better, but not by much. It seems to be more argumentative than the vapid stupidity of TikTok comments, but there's still a lot of rage bait. It does depend on the creator and content though!
I never touched tiktok, & I never will. I actually pay for YouTube π lots of artists I follow that put out art content there. You can turn off comments unless you're looking for feedback (I assume you could on tiktok too?).
Upload vids and make them private, make playlists for each project etc
with youtube your vids would be recommended to people who watch similar vids or people who actually search for your type of vids already filtering most of the shitty ppl. I know ppl say "youtube comments are toxic" i agree to a point but that depends on your content and who you cater to
