But you know we'd fuck it up and get bogged down in the administrivia. Imagine the meeting-- the arguments about equitable recruitment from all states, how to weight the subject areas, whether bilingualism is a prerequisite, etc-- all while the ripest picks are snatched by China and Europe.

TBH I'd be more worried about little in-groups seeing opportunities to recruit their buddies. Transparency would be critical. Otherwise we'll just end up with half the slots going to the kind of people who get CMOH jobs.

Yeah, we just have make sure it's an open, transparent process and we're getting good people rather than connected people. The ongoing hostile takeover of biomedical research from the EBM/GRADE cargo cult is already sucking a lot of support out of real science and into junk studies and slush funds.
