I know there are mayors out there, including my own (ostensibly), who are serious about protecting their constituents from ICE, and this is a repeatable strategy that they can organize.

LA County has 200-ish stations, most with Engines some with a Truck too, divided among 3 shifts (so 600 to 1200 captains)
Truck companies are more senior generally
in conclusion Fire Stations are a land of contrasts
here in LA our departments are professional and try to be part of the community, so they have personalities in how they operate and what they take pride in
