I think in theory they are technically more reliable and have a bunch of physical stability benefits but honestly yeah there is zero point like 90% of the time

iirc hdds are better long term if u leave them on a shelf or something (ssd's fail quicker here afaik) but they last a shorter time when actually running.
Either way theyre cheaper so with some foresight you can keep backups and it's not like ssd's don't die.
