I read a recent Propublica article on how rural Alaskan schools are falling apart and the state is not keeping up with maintenance. Is there any way you're aware of to contribute so that these kids have safe buildings to learn in?

That one I don't know. That's generally a bigger process than raising money for classrooms or school trips. I would doubt that there is a crowdfunding option for those kinds of expenses.

The Igivarod started in 2019 when those of us following Blair Braverman as she did her rookie run decided to raise some money while we waited. Ultimately that first year raised over $120,000 and the Igivarod has continued every year, raising over $380,000. 2/

It these trying times, one of the things that helps me through is remembering that we are all bound together and that all of us matter or none of us do. The Igivarod brings together people all over the world to help rural Alaska schools and organizations. 3/

It gets automatically added in to the total if you donate to Donor's Choose. If you donate to another organization, click on the Donation Tracker tab at the bottom of the spreadsheet and you can add in your donations there. :)
