Sydnie has been in Grayling 2 for over 10 hours which does not bode well. Quince has been there for about 4. There are rumblings about the ITC pulling the back of the pack (Sydnie and Q) but nothing has been announced. We'll know when we know, I guess. #mushersky 6/6

this is absolute bologna! 'too far back' my tuckus! they deserve a fair shot. it's not a real red lantern when the back of the pack is decimated. (gave up profanity for lent, failing badly, but trying hard)

I say "appears" because despite confirmation from non-ITC sources, the ITC hasn't seen fit to actually issue a press release or change the standings. The dogs and mushers (at least Sydnie and Quince) are already in Unalakleet it seems, but hey no rush on making it official, I guess. #mushersky 2/

I will keep most of my feelings to myself at the moment and just note that the ITC has this right under the rules and every musher knows that when they sign up. And every musher who is expecting a top 10 finish should, from here out, think long and hard about that rule. #mushersky 3/

I am immensely proud of Q and his team, especially Pepé who at nearly 12 years old, led that team for nearly 700 miles. The team had a rough start, but you could see them coming together and putting good run after good run in. It really sucks to have that taken from them. #mushersky 4/

But, as disappointed as we humans might be, the dogs don't know they didn't finish. As far as they are concerned, they did their jobs and had a great adventure on the trail - and the dogs are absolutely right. They were beautiful and perfect and that will never change. #mushersky 5/
