What was ever great about the Manky Mob ? Rife blatant sectarianism, underhandedness, cheating, controlling the Football Authorities, diddling the tax man, withholding millions of ££££££'s, side letters, EBT's, no paying their dues, greeting awybody hates them, selling worthless shares etc.
It took a once in a century global pandemic
& fraser not coming back
& Craig Gordon being allowed to leave
& BARKAS
& no covid in the entire setup all season, with unique testing
For them to win league.
I'm no bookie, but odds on that happening again must be a bajillion to none!
I apologise for reminding you!
Anyway, that horrible year of footy was the kick up the arse the club needed. Been utter dominance since and canβt see it ending anytime soon.
Its great to be us πππ
Beautiful to read. Would the board make an arse of it again if we get to 7 in a row like they did last time or would they go all out to secure that 10. I don't think they would let that 2nd chance at a legacy go again
I think it has for their more rational supporters.
Theyβre in a huge hole and thereβs no easy way out. The thing is, when people came along, like the crooks and charlatans that have run the clubs for decades, promising stuff thatβs too good to be true, they really shouldnβt have believed them.
They needed to rebuild sustainably, cutting their cloth to match where they were. To the rest of Scottish football, it was obvious the new club was accelerating towards a financial cliff edge.
When we hit rock bottom, The Bunnet came along and saved our club. But at the time, a lot of supporters didnβt like how he went about it, prioritising the stability and foundations of the business, rebuilding its core asset - the stadium - and only then finally delivering a league winning team.
And theyβll need to have a sound reputation as an honest, competent business leader. Rangersβ business reputation is in shreds and thereβs a big credibility problem attracting investors. So whoever it is needs impeccable personal credentials. Itβs a steep cliff and theyβre they at the bottom of it.
Breathtaking sense of entitlement. But they were also being spoon-fed absolute drivel by so-called journalists who shouldβve been exposing the insanity, smoke and mirrors and incompetence. But I suppose even if the media had, theyβd have been ignored, accused of treason or Celtic bias or something.
Even when liquidation was inevitable, journalists continued to try and sugar coat what was happening, especially after sampling David Murray`s succulent lamb, this gave birth to the continuation lie, and by that time threats were enough to keep them from uttering the truth.
This is what has stopped any of the blame being placed on Montyβs doorstep. For some reason the wrath is targeted at Craig Whyte who was brought in as a patsy, even after Whyte was cleared in court.
There was a time when the news and business journalists called it out for what it was. But that was soon brushed under the carpet and normal service resumed via the sports desk.

But tough as it was, it was the right medicine and the club is in rude health.
They need to take their medicine - not hopium - but whereas Fergus needed Β£10-11m up front, whoever they look to will need much, much more.
