Happy about a social care review and I get that it would naturally take a long time. But I do not have confidence A) that Labour has the bravery to make the case for tax rises B) that the Tories have the decency to refrain from party political sabotage in 2028.

In respose to the 25(!) assorted comissions, reviews, white papers on social care, Starmer stalled and launched a 26th.
This government is squandering its majority. Need to take more risks.
It's going to be utterly grim as no doubt will be politicised.
Considerable investment is being made by the wealthy to render people's attention irrelevant and ineffective.
There is political consensus that it has to be done.
Do it yesterday!
They were still at war for 75 years at least.
There are no injuries in the Tory - Labour debates.
But they got things done.
Not 2028

Social care is broken (I speak as one who knows).
Anyone who thinks the "old normal" Labour/Tory good cop bad cop act will plod on regardless is another part of the problem.

Why will it take a long time ?
Our young people should not be paying for Social Care.
Pensioners should be paying National Insurance.
Sir you are delusional
This review should just apply to England.
As a Scot living in Scotland I pay more income tax already. Labour need to take a leaf from the SNP book of taxation...
Private care companies = need for Profit.
NHS run Care = cheaper care - NON PROFIT. ?
Ideas-
1 Bring forward ban on no fault evictions
2 Scrap voter ID
3 Rejoin EEA
3 Ban foreign donations over 20k like Australia
4 Ban second jobs for MPs
5 Slim down the Lords
6 Bring back 'geriatric' wards in hospitals
7 Scrap "carbon capture"
8 Renationalise Water
They need to be more pro active & stop just reacting to events.
This☝️is a great list though 👏

They are, STILL, freezing the elderly while energy bills go up. Again and again.
They are imposing tory cuts on welfare as well as austerity all round.
They are harming trans kids.
How many more people will be unnecessarily evicted before the summer? Too many.
Always possible in times of emergency.
It is an emergency to a family facing eviction now.
Tories had already started this bill in 2019.
Much cheaper than using surgical beds & would free up surgical lists & prevent waiting lists growing for want of a bed.
My mother was a Sister on an elderly ward & she loved it.
It now is a 22 bed mostly out patient hospital with some private beds & open for office hours for everything else.
Minor injuries, bloods & x rays.
Such a waste.
B - Tories will be screaming ‘Death Taxes!!’ as often and as loud as they can
Why waste the first 3 years of a ‘10 year plan’ on another commission to re-do work already done?
Why risk more Labour unpopularity by inviting hostile accusations of continued Care can-kicking?
And why not seize the opportunity to remind voters of Johnson’s dishonesty?
If you address funding first you then end up reforming within those constraints.
Do we want to fund the profits of care companies or deliver as a national service is the first question
Another fail on their manifesto.
It seems the only two ministers willing to take risks and go faster are Rachel Reeves and Bridget Phillipson.
When have they said anything supporting Brexit?

There’s no opinion to reverse it in less than a decade realistically & no viable way to get access to SM either, so fixing the deal is the only option.
Why do you want to talk about Brexit? Is there a rush to rejoin - no. The EU is not falling over itself for us to rejoin either.
Banging on about Brexit is boring
I wasn’t aware I needed your permission to say or do anything.
Feel free to ignore what I have to say if it offends you.
This is a multi-parliment project and needs to have, but won't get for now, support across both sides of the house and the media.

imo they cornered themselves in their manifesto and will -definitely- have to do tax rises next year anyways, and look here, the first half of the report comes in next year...
