The USA is the backbone of NATO, and without it, Europe has limited ability to project military strength.

There is nothing that I intuitively like about Mandelson. I think however that is intelligent, nuanced, experienced and will do the best for UK & Europe
He is clever enough to manipulate his foes into a position that benefits him (& us)
