I would say it’s true that 🇺🇦 has been dealing with 🇺🇸 & 🇪🇺 interests for 10 years but with Trump it’s not clear yet whether he will be supporting 🇺🇸 interests or 🇷🇺 interests but we do know he will support his own interests. Trump has close ties with the Kremlin since 1987. Trump hater / Biden critic.

It’s all they have been doing on 🇺🇦 since they have got into power - my gut feeling is they will delay decisions on aid, continually release contradictory statements, tie 🇺🇦 up in fruitless negotiations and discredit them - all while easing off on 🇷🇺 & hampering European efforts to provide aid. Very 🇷🇺.

Actions speak louder than words - and so far there hasn't been any (overt) actions from the new US administration.

And as for sanctions, they should not only be a means to get Russia to the table, but stay in full force until Russia retreats back behind the internationally recognized 1991-borders.

That's the only way to ensure Russia withdrawals fully even if there is some sort of ceasefire agreement. I doubt Ukraine will accept any ceasefire if it doesn't ensure security guarantees because their whole strategy revolves around not giving Russia a break.

There won't be any negotiations until after the summer counteroffensive, leading to some forced withdrawals. The orcs have culminated and are at their weakest in a long time. Accepting a ceasefire now would be unconscionable, but they need to play along pretending that what Trump says matters.
