Russia is screwed. Yes, they are taking little bits of Ukrainian land, but at huge cost in men and materiel, and their economy is increasingly stretched. An army rebellion or bank run would destroy their offensive.

The only WAY theres a pause/peace is if PUTIN wants it to rebuild his forces, thats it. He might just do it so Trump can withdraw from nato/europe... while europe goes back into sleep cut-military spending... then Putin can attack the baltics and ukraine again in 2-3 years.
