Putin running out of Soviet stockpiles of military equipment. Remaining artillery is old, short range, towed and easier for AFU to destroy. Shorter range artillery = longer trips for logistics vehicles, easier for AFU to destroy unarmored, logistics vehicles. This is why Putin pushes for ceasefire.

It probably reflects what Russia's fighting with. Artillery barrels wear out and Russia can't make more because sanctions.
So they replace big self-propelled guns with many smaller older towed guns which are easier to hide from drones.

I wonder when they'll run out of artillery. They already had some serious decline in autumn, I don't know why though. But I suspect that by continuing at this rate they'll run out of guns coming summer.

my guess is better targeting by Ukraine - more fibre optic drones getting through because previously they were being protected by EW systems

Might be an improved tactical capacity.Magyar has been posting many videos in the last weeks of his“birds”hitting many barrels of artillery pieces.Production and use of non jammable optical drones,with the longest range up to 30 km, has gone up as well and this give a new depth of strike capability
