Assuming Cory Booker breaks Strom Thurmond's record-long speech opposing civil rights tonight, I suspect he will point out that fact the next time he's running in the South Carolina presidential primary.

No, he's doing it for clout. If he was doing it because the stakes were high he'd be calling for Schumer to resign. He wouldn't have voted for the Secretaries of State and Treasury. He wouldn't have agreed to unanimous consent after his speech ended.
