Okay, I understand if it's not possible, but can you explain a little bit about what it feels like when you try to imagine something. Aphantasia fascinates me so much and I don't know why

I mean it is kinda possible to explain its just not easy lol

When i close my eyes i usually see blackness, some purplish/green mixed in depending on brightness outside

I can dream, and have had vivid imagery appear when i go to sleep, but I’ve never been able to lucid dream, idk if thats relevant

The other weird thing is that i can totally “imagine” a place/person/object thats familiar to me but i can’t actually create an image in my head. Like its just blips of memories of the thing

That's so interesting but so concerning to me at the same time bc I have a fairly similar experience. Also I think (or rather I hope) that it's normal to not actually see stuff you imagine when you close your eyes, if that makes sense (and if I understood you correctly lol)

Yeah i thought it was normal too, i looked it up and I guess there’s levels to it? Like sometimes vague stuff shows up when i close my eyes but i have no control over

Ask family members, because its not confirmed but it’s most likely genetic

I'll look into it more. I've just never been sure if it was just my mind being so foggy and cluttered that I wasn't able to focus on specific imaginations very well. Like some things are blobs, others are hazy, and others are clear.

Now I wanna ask if it affects your drawing process at all .__.
