People joke about that SONY were just making movie-games or interactive movies this console generations, and when Astro Bot the platformer (Genere of game that we havent seen since the ps3 I think?) was launched everyone "SONYER" was shocked, but the other people just saw him as a bad copy or Mario
I'm mostly being excited for this outcome. The game they had less faith in than Concord just utterly *burying* that derivative, boring crap and going on to be GotY.
But part of me wonders if MS is now going to make their own, based on all the 3D platformer IPs they own.
Astro Bot doesn't exactly leap out to me as a contender tbh, it looks like a couple hours of fan-service on zombie IPs we'll be seeing for the next 5 years.
Wow a first party exclusive that's just a fun video game that likes being a video game what a fucking concept can you please learn the right lesson from this Sony can you do that fuck
I actually theorize that Concord was slated into a lot of spots in the game awards before it bombed as heavily as it did. It’s why there were some unusual nominee picks this year, including for GOTY itself.
Watch them learn the wrong lesson and the Astro Bot sequel is another sad dad simulator and in the opening you have to take a photo realistic parappa out back

Just everything in moderation, ya know?

But I say that months after we learned a Spyro/Crash crossover game was cancelled.

Then the Concord nightmare
I want them to just stop and look at this 15 hour game made by basically the tech demo team and Studio Japan scraps
Do you see do you fucking see
Anyway Asobi's props were long overdue
