Most of Poilievre's ideas are ridiculous. While most people support harsher penalties for fentanyl dealers, we still have laws and limitations - that already exist and have extreme penalties. The maximum penalty for drug trafficking Schedule I/II drugs IS life imprisonment, which is 25 years.

We just need to give courts, prisons, prosecutors, etc. more resources. One of the reasons we seem weak on crime is because we can't guarantee people a fast trial, forcing plea bargains, cases being thrown out, people let out on bail, etc.
