From what I can tell, "AI" is creating more and more three-times-regurgitated junk that appears factual until you ask it about something you are knowledgeable about.

Hoping it creates high paying jobs for people will real knowledge and skills to fix the AI poop.

I'm no developer, but with basic programming knowledge I started coding my own tools.

And they're actually working!

Yeah, of course there are downsides, but coding is just a means to an end.

And programming isn't coding.

Having spent a a good few months with AI "builders", the term "illiterate" has a completely different context.

You generally need to have a concept of engineering to "improve" a prompt.

It's not "illiterate" in the common use of the word & context.

The principle has been known for quite a while due to autopilot etc on planes. If the automation fails, the pilots often don't have the knowledge to respond correctly (for example Air France Flight 447).

The crazy thing is that as more people become reliant on AI for tasks, they don't just lose practice at a skill set, they literally help train the tool that most CEOs and VCs are hoping to use to replace them! AI has proven to be a great tool to aid and speed work but shouldn't be relied on entirely

LOL AI didn't create them... that's all on the education system that is more interested in student pronouns and promoting cancel culture than useful skills like reading and writing. In a few years the web will be AI trained on other AI nonsense since there are few incentives to do otherwise
