Hi! 😊 I'd say you could mention it in the context of it being a fantasy retelling of XYZ (using comps to also help with the framing). Emphasizing how you're adding a new spin to will helps solidify it as more of a YA F than a YA Hist. (& don't worry, it's not an uncharted path!)
