When I was growing up in upstate NY a common refrain was that the state should actually be split between down and upstate. But really, are we so different?
Even local Democrats who might themselves be good people can’t change the national flavor of an organization that exists only to prevent a successful leftist movement.
This is why socialist candidates shouldn't bother running as Dems to begin with. The moment you start winning while playing by their rules they flip over the chessboard and throw a fit, so it's better for the Dems *not* to have any control over your candidate's finances or organizational structure.
If nothing else, maybe it shows NY and the Democratic Party that progressive candidates who actually give a shit about improving the lives of their constituents is a better bet than establishment centrists who are in it for clout and money.
I dunno they didn't go that far just asked the city's Republicans to vote for Byron and had the cops illegally pass out write-in ballots and tell people to vote for Brown at polling stations is that not normal
“We don’t want to wake up on November 3, and people say, ‘Buffalo just elected the first socialist mayor in the past 50 years.’ We can’t make that happen in Buffalo!”

how do we keep going for the transactional guys in it for themselves instead of the people who get into politics to help the common man?
