There are several people whom I admire greatly, who are doing amazing work, to whose newsletters I'm subscribed but whom I'm not supporting financially because they remain on Substack. From the bottom of my heart, I wish they'd get the memo.

For those who needs a free option for authors (including myself):

Ghost has no free option

Buttondown is only free for the first 100 subscribers

Beehiiv has a free option with 2,500 subscriber limit

Switching out of Substack is on my to-do list; we need more free options for accessibility

This is one of the most confusing things about content creators who are supposedly anti-Trump.

I only trust the ones who live their values enough to stay or migrate away from Substack.

I recommend the Substack labeler to anyone who is trying to live their values, too!

For future reference, link embeds collide with quote embeds but image embeds don’t. So you can add an image to a quote but not a link, it’s a bit confusing

Substack is a platform either such entities can also post, but they do not drive the whole entirety of content for the Substack site. Substack also hosts a vast amount of centrist, blue, left leaning, liberal voices that do not need to be squashed from misinformed alarmist propaganda like your post
