It will be harder for map services that don't have a direct concept of user location, eg OpenStreetMap has to communicate enough info to allow user-facing services to pick what name to display

yes, OSM's mostly about providing data for other people (govt, biz, third sector) to build into services. That includes being used by the big firms - like google! - but they put their own data and policies on top too
(google maps does provide data to others but AIUI its main customer is itself)
I'm curious about how the LLMs might be different as they can be trained to "know" facts like geo names and/or be built into services that do look up user location/search live data from naming bodies, filters, &c
Not same, but similar, to how people are realising that deepseek app responds differently to deepseek model when asked about tianamen square/winnie the pooh/etc. Its not a new problem so out of curiosity I might check with other disputed place-names
heh, I've just been collecting skeets about the output gates in both the local model and the ones you can see in the hosted app because they're reasoned about in DeepThink mode
