"Fun" fact I was told in past
Weather forecasting depends on quality of weather observation data collected in other countries. The climate don't care about yr geopolitical boundaries
So, if US weather observation data gets worse, eg cos fewer staff, then forecasts can get worse in other countries

I am now hearing from multiple folks in the past two hours (including some who have personally been fired) that mass firings have now commenced within NOAA--including, yes, at the National Weather Service.

Anyway, I wonder if what I was told in past still holds true and which countries might depend on US weather observation data for good forecasts/farming/food &c?
