Why would you jump to that as your question for me? Specifically, why would you jump to placing me on the opposite side of that line from you in framing that question?

My apologies I didn’t mean for the question to be directed towards you specifically. It is in response to the quote tweet about building coalitions with those I semi-agree with. I was trying to reference the Dem split regarding Gaza
Okay. Thanks. In that case, I'd say two things. First, Harris lost, and she's not going to be the nominee again. So "Did you support Harris in the 2024 election?" is a question that I don't think it does any good to use as a line in the sand in either direction.
One of the problems that we've seen regarding Gaza is that the issue has been treated as a binary--either you fully support Palestinians or you are the enemy. It doesn't take into account one's ability and access to persuade, nor does it recognize those who are persuadable.
More broadly, the Democratic Party now has essentially zero power to affect what happens in Gaza, and will not for a long time to come. By the time they have that power again, a lot of people will have rethought a lot of things they believed in 2024, on this and many other issues.
My view right now is that I want to work with people I can work with—that I'm interested in our disagreements only to the extent that they interfere with our ability to work together productively. That's not going to be everyone's perspective, but it is mine.
