That’s not what the department of education does. What it does is give money to state schools and create programs for state schools and colleges and tracks performance. It’s doesn’t give education, or distribute information or keep states compliant with state laws.

and alaska gets the most federal funds per student for schools
if dept of education is cut the rural areas will be hurt the most. least amount of property taxes going into the local schools.
For example about $6000 per child from the feds for special education, and money for english as a second language. Without those funds states can cut special education and ESL altogether.
