Think about it… this is a political strategy that absolutely destroys Adams and supplants NY State as the one holding the reins instead of Trump. And she did it the day after he consented to his federal charges being dismissed without prejudice. He is of no use to Trump now.

What she did to him is worse - he’s caught in her web now, where before in Adams’ mind it was just Trump that had power over what he did. He agreed to do what Trump wanted. Now, he has do do what she wants, or his entire house of cards collapses.

Lawrence O’Donnell had a thorough explanation of why Hochul isn’t firing Adams. Bottom line: there is no specific process, just broad outlines, and by the time those were filled in it would have cost time and money including many legal challenges, which on the face of it would probably succeed
