If Labour pull this deal off, they will have trapped the Tories. Osbourne is right it’s effectively game over for hard Brexit.

How the Conservatives manage this will be very interesting. Whatever one might think constitutes "true" Brexit, ultimately an SPS agreement with the EU - and all that entails - was front and centre of Labour's manifesto. Which, in a parliamentary system, is ultimately the trump card
