I am a developer and my company forces us to use an IDE that has an integrated AI copilot because "productivity". But honestly searches on Google has become less reliable than what AI can do, we are witnessing a change that's kinda unavoidable in the industry.
I tried to build a polycule dream house in Sims once. I knew it didn't allow it, but I figured a "guest house" for smoochies would work.. nope, the other partner was instantly aware and walked clear across the lot to slap them.
I have the same reaction when someone uses AI near me.
Functional people suggesting that we do exactly what we shouldn't do in our specific case, because ChatGPT said it was the solution 🙃 I would laugh if it wasn't accompanied by lay off because they think it will do the job...
I wish more artist and writers understood the predicament we are all in. AI is not necesarily a choice. All of us must use it in one form or another in order to be on the internet.
Spell check, search engines, and even artistry in general. As a promp generating device its un-avoidable.
My school invited a graphic designer to talk about her work. She was actively promoting ai and told us to use it to create a logo for ourselves. Not a single person in our class listened. Why is she promoting the one thing that will replace her😭
Mine too! Rather than hire enough people to support our employees technical needs, they want to set up a chatbot. As if our employees are going to use it!
Colleagues are for when the question merits a professional answer.
Google is for when there are technical difficulties that you are not equipped to deal with.
Incognito + duckduckgo is for when no one can know about how stupid the question is.
ChatGPT? God preserve us.
Yes, I was internally screaming when my DnD party started asking AI programs to create picutres of their characters. When they wanted to do mine I was "No, that's my character and I don't want him to be made by AI" and they looked at me like "WHAAAAT?"
Yes, actually I often make heroforge models first as a rough reference for the artists I comissioned (if they are fine with this method). It's not something you can do with a few clicks though, it needs some time and effort.
This happened to me, long story short my gm runs for two groups in the same world and the other group was doing that shit and I told them I didn't want them touching my pc and then they did it fucking anyways!!! I was livid. I still hate the other group and refuse to take to them unless necessary
Here are some examples of art these three did for me:
The Tiefling in picture 1 is done by Durkle, the fox in picture 2 is done by BlueHunter and the cat priest in picture 3 is done by KippyCube.
Imagine being on the receiving end of a blatantly incorrect ChatGPT fact check. And when I say blatantly incorrect, I mean literally showing the person the most credible possible piece of evidence there could be for someone, and being told “lol no, ChatGPT says that’s a hoax”
And just for funsies, the prompt he put in was “topical controversy hoax” so like, there was literally no way the thing was going to give him an answer other than the one he wanted.

As much as I would prefer a book or tutorial to learn? Its just becoming less available as companies push for profitable websites.
Unfortunately Ai is doing a better job. Every passionate artist is strugalling.
It may have been fun to mess with for a bit, sure. But I'd rather put effort into my stuff than force a machine to do it for me.
