Apparently, a 2nd degree friend of mine who has a 2 year old is able to run a full draft at their house with their partner. They try to time it around naps, but JFC I cannot imagine being able to do that with Rappscallion. Either they have a magical child or one of the partners is doing childcare. - ThreadSky

Our old neighbors had kids who used to be asleep by 7pm, no matter what. They could do stuff at night that we could not.

These days if I even take a card out the kiddo wants to know everything about it.

Some kids are just chill. Some kids are not. Mine were decidedly not. Though hooooboy are there ever a lot of people who think that comes down to parenting. "just give them a quiet activity like coloring!" 😂😂😂

You're right though. My kiddo is not chill, and has been described affectionately as a "Force of Nature".

I also got confused when I heard about stuff like this. Then we had our second kid and he's just pretty chill all the time. Very content to entertain himself on the floor for 30+ minutes at a time which our first kid would never do.

Like idk whose 2 year old wouldn't immediately look at a game of Magic and try to take all the cards themselves. Drafting like this would be chaos (but the real kind of chaos, not a Chaos Draft).

My D&D group back in Charlotte picked up a "new player" after the DM and our Cleric had a (out-of-game) baby halfway through the campaign. By the time he was 2, kiddo would happily throw a ball whenever the grownups rolled a die and could almost say "nat 20".
