I am not American, but wouldn't the representatives mostly be the same party as the president if they have a majority? I know it isn't like Canada, where we don't actually vote for our Prime Minister at all, but wouldn't that much be consistent? Or are you talking about state politics?

Our congress controls the purse. Every bit of money that Elon is grabbing away is money that was assigned last year or 2 years ago or 10 years ago by our representatives. Every program or dept he’s “terminating” was created by our duly elected officials who were voted in by citizens.
