Electric car boom has been taken over by everyone and anyone wanting to take advantage of EV owners. if you charge your car in a public place it cost just as much as fuel and the range is worse, especially in winter.

Or better battery tech.
An ICE vehicle typically coverts 12-30% of energy into kinetic energy (movement) rest is lost to heat.
An EV can covert over 77%
Im not familiar with ICE vehicles. I have an Audi A3 PHEV and on a full charge it's 50KM but most of the year when temps are low it's closer to 25 to 28. My work car is a Tesla model 3 and when cold it's lower than 200KM on full charge. Probably an average of 175.
Your Audi is ICE (internal combustion engine) with hybrid system. Hydrogen could be a viable alternative, but as of now, producing hydrogen requires significantly more energy than the energy it ultimately stores.
It's still cheaper to publicly charge in some cases much cheaper but it is still expensive in my view. Range is a non issue that people focus on too much. For most people a pee stop is more than enough charge to get you to the next pee stop. Modern cars charge very fast. A nio does it it 5 mins.
Range is a huge issue and it's just as expensive when you use real world range. None of this is made up or not publicly available information. They even cost more to buy which makes it worse. They were supposed to be cheaper to run but they aren't. I own one and cant wait to sale it.
I have one since 2017 and currently have two. Range has never been an issue for me and I do occasional very, very long journeys but people are different. Much, much cheaper to run especially given servicing costs but more so if you can charge from home. Which one do you have?
