Did Trump really intend to pardon violent insurrectionists, or only commute their sentences? Trump’s interview after the fact suggests he intended commutation, which is supported by the pre inauguration interview with Vance. Did whomever managed the commutation and pardon process make the decision?

Daniel Rodriguez, 40, pleaded guilty to attacking Metropolitan Police officer Michael Fanone on Jan 6, tasing him in the neck and using a dangerous weapon to injure a law enforcement officer. The hospital diagnosed Fanone with cardiac arrest and traumatic brain injury.
