So... pretty well everything that would immediately be grounds for dismissal in any other job. And if this was a Democrat, you know the Republicans would have been screaming for its release earlier, and would be demanding action.

45 was aware of the general allegations against Gaetz due to their public nature, and his decision to nominate Gaetz amidst those allegations might suggest he was either uninformed about the severity of the findings or chose to PROCEED regardless.

I heard he is suing the Ethics Committee now. Not sure how this helps him but hey....

No - not now. His lawyers stopped it. the combination of the report's release and the legal principle of mootness likely led to Gaetz's lawyers stopping the pursuit of the lawsuit against the House Ethics Committee, as there was no longer a viable legal argument to continue.
