Wonderfully worded optimism about the season. I so desperately hope you are right. I also hope that if even moderate success holds, the team will be brave enough to spend real money to keep us at the top. A big ticket midfielder or defender would be so helpful to this now much deeper roster.

I think it's fair to say it's a good year if your team reaches the overall playoff semi-final. That's not cope, it's a reasonable position.

Of course we want trophies and runner-up isn't ideal. But it's not a bad season if they don't win it all.
