For me this is the political book of the year, certainly the best I’ve read. Challenging orthodoxies on the left and right, with a powerful, sharply argued diagnosis as to how our political economic model has failed. Great (if hardly festive) reading over Christmas.

I'd say I'm probably looking at (another) 'president-based' politikal-bok... that challenges 'orthodoxies on the left and right' such as "Nixon was a crook, and Trump even more so." 🙄
Court politicians into giving you government contracts
Continually push profits up and losses down
Become too big to fail
Extract more capital from the state through bailouts
Sounds like it's working perfectly
'Social democracy' and/or 'democratic-socialism' are things. But refer to a way to manage a 'capitalist-economy'... that differs from how the PRC is currently doing the same thing.
According to CCP doctrine, Capitalism in the PRC is being run by them to smoothly arrive at Communism.
Hence my point that this is capitalism working, and democracy is broken, not our economic system.
The big change is having capitalists decide to go past just schmoozing to get tax-breaks, to them bending the knee to fascism or being in such a government.
