But whatever you think, I believe the point @drewpasmith.com was making sat around the amount of hate he’d received, including (I think) death threats in the context of not wanting to say too much. No one deserves that, whatever you think of the journalism or person

And relative to himself, Drew was using it to highlight more that online debate has become weird, and the industry has become weird - as podcasters but also who work in / in Drew’s case trying to work in the industry to move it forward… you can easily be shut out for delivering unpopular views

Not quite the same thing but similar, I recently criticised the winner of this year's Festival of the Unexceptional as I didn't believe a vehicle that sold in the $40k area 'Unexceptional'. Instantly removed from Hegerty's press lists and unfollowed on SM. Makes content creation very difficult

2) I might think myself a little odd, but losing faith in a journalist is nowhere near a situation where threats are made like you describe 😳
