For today's pro-train content, I'll direct you to this blurb on Amtrak's official website that encourages you to bring CRTs on the train to play Melee.

The absence of any reasonable amtrak between here and my grandma's because of under ~50 miles of missing track in Oklahoma makes me so mad every time i think about it. Instead of a comfortable little 5 hr train ride it's got to be a shitty 1hr flight with a 2 hr wait, or 10 hrs in a car.
Brings me back to a games club field trip in high school where someone hooked up their portable CRT and a PS2 in the car so all of us in the back could play 4P split-screen Battlefront 2 on a screen that was maybe 6” across at most
used to run an organized train trip that went up the coast starlight to the penny arcade expo well over a decade ago. we would bring in a full rock band setup, we had a Starcraft LAN going in the observation deck downstairs and magic drafts upstairs. at least one marriage came of it all
we would book up from LA Union Station to Seattle and back again, absolutely insane times. we definitely did a lot of melee. we would use empty rooms on 1st floor passenger carts that used to be arcades before decommissioning (once we found one car that still had cabs)
i'm baffled that they're marketing to adults young enough to have memories playing the switch in their parents' car (feels like more people could relate to playing a DS), but also adults old enough to have memories playing smash melee instead of smash ultimate in the same paragraph

Trains are just plain more convenient over here. They're much cheaper, much easier to book, and (depending on your specific needs) much faster.
