Will Borgen is a -13 third-pair defenseman who is four years older and at the end of his contract.
Kakko has amazing upside and the reward is greater than the risk of two middle-to-late round draft picks.

The only reason you think Kakko has amazing upside is his draft position but he’s got 330 games in the NHL that say otherwise 🤷🏻♂️
